Study in Canada

Know everything about universities, costs, admission process & more

A viable option in terms of affordable quality education especially when compared to the U.S. and the UK, Canada is notably favoured among international students. It has 3 of the top 20 best student cities in the world where students enjoy inclusivity and diversity as they are welcomed from various backgrounds. A unique system to Canada is co-op which enables students to work for four months in a year, in the field of their study thereby gaining practical know-how and giving them an edge amongst peers who have graduated from other study destinations. Furthermore, 20 hours of work is allowed per week and depending on your program, students are allowed to work for up to three years after completion of their degree.

Tuition Fee and Cost of Living

  • All above costs are an indicative and approximate range of expenses and is not an exhaustive list
  • Tuition fees of top universities and certain courses such as MBA, Medicine, Dentistry, Law etc have a much higher fee than the others

Employment prospects

  • International students can apply for post-graduation work permit (PGWP), which entitles them to stay in the country and work for up to 3 years after completion of their Masters degree. This is also the pathway to secure permanent residency for many.

Visa Requirements

Visa Requirements (Study Permit)- In Canada, a student visa is called a ‘study permit’. Indian students are eligible to apply for the permit if enrolled at a Designated Learning Institution (DLI), show proof of funds (tuition fee, living expenses, return transportation), police verification to show you do not have any criminal record, prove you are in good health (by undergoing a medical examination) and prove that you will leave Canada after study permit expires.
